When you suspect your cat is pregnant, one of the most important things to know is the estimated due date. Cat pregnancy averages 65 days, but can range from 63 to 67 days. By knowing the mating date, you can estimate the due date, plan veterinary appointments and prepare for the birth.

Preparing for Birth
One to two weeks before birth, prepare a quiet, dark and warm nesting box for your cat. Line it with soft towels or blankets. In the 24 hours before labor, your cat's body temperature drops and she may stop eating. Each kitten delivery is usually 15–60 minutes apart; waiting longer than 2 hours or sustained strong contractions may require veterinary intervention.
